Found this link earlier today when Stumbling - it fits the bill here, so I have added it! Enjoy.
Veggie Art What's an Osage Orange?
This isn't strictly a vegetable or a fruit - though I suppose it is the fruit of a tree.
Full story and picture here The Truth?Wasn't it in Terry Pratchett's 'The Truth', that the ill-fated newspaper proprietor started (albeit accidentally) a section on 'amusing vegetables' or somesuch? I have to admit to owning and having read (more than once) virtually all of Pratchett's Discworld books. The last time, I read them all in sequence - except for the couple I'm missing - and it was fun. I've even read some of those supposedly written for children, like the Dark Side of the Sun and Truckers. I have to admit they were still enjoyable, despite the slightly simpler language. One thing Pratchett never seems to do is talk down to his readers, whatever their age. There are those who decry the books as being juvenile, or at best, not very funny, but I'll keep reading them, and wait eagerly for the next paperback. Can't afford the hardback editions any more! |
amusing vegetablesInitially intended to cover only funny-looking veg (and odd fruit). Although it might cover that from time to time, it just seemed like a good title for a blog.
